The State of Ohio has recently launched a new campaign that aims to help businesses that are worried about the rising levels of substance abuse among workers.
Campaign to fight drug use in the workplace
Called the Business Impact Zone, the new effort is actually a component and a follow-up to the year-old program Start Talking!, which aims to provide employers with materials to raise drug abuse awareness among their employees and promote a drug-free workplace.
The campaign is part of Ohio’s efforts to combat a prescription painkiller addiction epidemic in the state.
The resources can be accessed by the business community online. Among the resources put together by the Ohio State University College of Pharmacy, with the support of the Cardinal Health Foundation, are a brief video that outlines the drug problem, a PowerPoint presentation, and handouts that employers can use to conduct their own drug awareness campaigns.
